Tommy Fury addresses Darren Till’s ban from Misfits fight: ‘He needs to act professionally’

Tommy Fury vs. Eddie Hall: A Formidable Matchup

Tommy Fury is preparing to face a formidable opponent this Saturday: Eddie Hall, the former World’s Strongest Man, who represents a significant size disadvantage compared to anyone Fury’s brother, Tyson Fury, has encountered in the ring.

Previous Fight Plans and Tensions

Prior to this matchup, Tommy was set to box Darren Till, a former UFC fighter who has successfully transitioned into boxing, boasting four consecutive victories from 2024 to 2025. Till’s boxing journey continued when he made his bare-knuckle debut in May against Aaron Chalmers at BKFC 90, which he also won via a decisive second-round knockout, maintaining his undefeated streak since departing from the UFC in 2023.

Originally, a fight between Fury and Till was scheduled for January 2025 under the Misfits Boxing banner. However, Fury withdrew without clarification, leading Till to suggest that he might have been intimidated by Till’s success in boxing. Although the proposed match is now canceled, tensions flared again earlier this week when Till announced on social media that he was barred from attending the upcoming Fury vs. Hall bout.

Tommy Fury’s Response

Addressing the situation on “The Ariel Helwani Show,” Tommy Fury expressed indifference towards Darren Till and his claims, emphasizing that his focus is solely on the fight at hand. “I’m not here to talk about Darren Till in the slightest. I have no interest in him whatsoever,” Fury stated, also indicating that Till’s inability to act professionally contributed to their fight’s cancellation. “Darren needs to learn how to be professional, but that’s all I’m going to say on him. He had his chance, and we will move on,” Fury commented.

Family Drama and Fight Dynamics

The paths of both fighters have diverged since their planned bout, with Till now engaging in bare-knuckle boxing, which seems less surprising compared to Fury’s upcoming clash against Hall. The controversy surrounding Fury’s match with Hall appears to be tied to family dramas, particularly involving Tommy’s father, John Fury. According to Tommy, when Hall expressed interest in an MMA fight with Tyson Fury, it did not sit well with John, leading to a heated situation that culminated in Tommy being offered the fight against Hall soon afterward.

Fight Expectations

Eddie Hall, who has been engaging in combat sports for some time, will enter the ring against Tommy Fury with a considerable weight advantage. Though Fury has generally competed around 200 pounds, he hinted at being significantly heavier for this fight.

“I’m going to weigh a lot heavier than people think… People go on about Eddie’s power, but if I catch Eddie properly, it could be good night for him. He isn’t a boxer; he’s a World’s Strongest Man,” Fury remarked. He also acknowledged the dramatic size difference, declaring, “There will definitely be 100 pounds between us. In the ring on Saturday night, you’re gonna see David and Goliath for real.”

As the anticipation builds, fans eagerly await this clash that promises to be as much about skill as it is about spectacle.
