The decision to convert the old Mayweather Boxing + Fitness location was not taken lightly, as Pacquiao’s team plans to erase all traces of Mayweather’s branding from the facility. Jas Mathur, former associate of Mayweather and now the CEO of Pacquiao Promotions, clarified that this move is rooted solely in business strategy rather than personal rivalry.

Mathur stated to The Ring, highlighting that the move forms part of a larger vision for expanding the Pacquiao Prime Boxing franchise, with aspirations to open many similar establishments in the future.

Despite the rebranding, it’s worth noting that the original Mayweather gym ceased operations after the franchise owner chose not to renew the lease. However, Mayweather maintains a global presence with numerous gyms still in operation, despite facing rumored financial challenges recently.
