As the NWSL’s regular season nears the mid-way point, the latest Power Rankings from ESPN showcase shifting fates among the league’s 16 teams. North Carolina Courage edged past Angel City in a gripping match that ended in a 2-1 victory. Key contributions from Ashley Sanchez sparked a powerful attacking display that ultimately overwhelmed Angel City’s defense, who are struggling with consistency as they face multiple losses.

On a disappointing note, Chicago’s Stars remain at the bottom of the rankings after another defeat. With their goal difference in the negative, the Stars find themselves struggling to score while their defense fails to secure matches, indicating urgent needs for improvement.
