Maryland Authorities Issue Warrant for Gervonta Davis Over Probation Breach

Maryland Authorities Seek Gervonta Davis

Authorities in Maryland are seeking Gervonta Davis due to a reported violation of his probation linked to a Miami domestic violence arrest. The Baltimore County court records indicate that a warrant for Davis’s arrest was first issued by Circuit Judge Althea M. Handy on February 2.

Warrant Issuance and Legal Proceedings

Davis’s legal team succeeded in having this warrant recalled on February 10 after arguing that Davis would comply with law enforcement. However, by April 24, a new warrant was issued by the same judge under unclear circumstances after another motion to recall was filed, which was subsequently rejected on May 22. As such, the warrant remains in effect as of now.

Background on Gervonta Davis

Davis, a 31-year-old professional boxer, was previously placed on probation following a hit-and-run incident in Baltimore in November 2020 that resulted in injuries to four individuals. The current legal troubles stem from accusations made by his ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, who alleged that he assaulted her at a strip club in Miami where she was working as a cocktail server on October 27, 2025.

Civil Lawsuit and Arrest

Following this alleged incident, Rossel filed a civil lawsuit against Davis, leading to his withdrawal from a scheduled fight with Jake Paul in November. On January 14, Davis was detained in Florida on charges that included battery, false imprisonment, and attempted kidnapping. He made bail the same day, posting an $8,500 bond, and was instructed to avoid any contact with Rossel.

Current Legal Status

While the charge of false imprisonment has since been dismissed, the allegations of battery and attempted kidnapping remain unresolved. Current court records confirm that if Gervonta Davis is apprehended, he will be detained without the opportunity for bail.
