Kobbie Mainoo Extends Contract with Manchester United
Kobbie Mainoo has officially extended his contract with Manchester United, committing to the club until 2031. The news comes as United confirmed that the young midfielder’s previous deal was set to conclude in 2027. This new agreement marks a notable turnaround in Mainoo’s career since the appointment of manager Michael Carrick earlier this year.
Career Turnaround Under New Management
Initially, Mainoo found himself struggling for playtime under former coach Ruben Amorim, leading him to seek a loan move last summer. However, since Amorim’s departure, the 21-year-old has been a key player, taking to the pitch for 12 of Carrick’s 13 matches in charge. His impressive performances have helped propel the team to third place in the Premier League, earning him a spot on the England national team ahead of the upcoming World Cup, which will take place across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
Mainoo’s Commitment to the Club
After the announcement of his new long-term contract on Thursday, Mainoo expressed his deep connection to Manchester United, stating:
“This special club means everything to my family. I have grown up seeing the impact that our club has on our city, and I relish the responsibility that comes with wearing this shirt. I have the privilege of living my dream every single day, with the same relentless desire to succeed here as when I joined my first training session at the age of six. We can all feel the momentum building inside the club. I am determined to step up and play my role in helping Manchester United to regularly fight for major trophies in the years ahead.”
Mainoo’s commitment to the club reflects not only his personal dedication but also the positive direction in which United is heading under Carrick’s leadership.
