Inter Milan secured the Serie A championship title with a decisive 2-0 victory against Parma at the iconic San Siro Stadium on Sunday. The first goal came from Marcus Thuram, who netted right before halftime with a well-placed shot that evaded the grasp of Parma’s goalkeeper, Zion Suzuki. Veteran midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan then extended the lead in the 80th minute, scoring after receiving a crucial pass from Lautaro Martinez, the league’s top scorer who made a much-anticipated return from injury as a substitute.

Chivu, a former Inter player with 168 appearances during his tenure from 2007 to 2014, marked this victory as his first major trophy as a head coach after taking over from Simone Inzaghi in June 2025. Amidst the euphoria, midfielder Nicolò Barella reflected on the team’s past challenges, particularly how he was part of the Italian national team that failed to qualify for the World Cup for the third consecutive time. This league title follows a disappointing early exit for Inter from the Champions League playoff against Bodo/Glimt in February.
