Yunus Musah Loaned to Atalanta
In a notable move just before the closure of the transfer window, Yunus Musah, an American international, has been loaned to Atalanta by AC Milan. As per reports, Atalanta has secured Musah for a fee of approximately €4 million (around $4.7 million) until the conclusion of the ongoing season. Upon its completion, the club holds the option to make his transfer permanent for €24 million (about $28 million).
Musah’s Background and National Team Contributions
Musah, who was born in New York but raised in both Italy and England, has been an integral part of Milan’s lineup since his transfer from Valencia two years ago, appearing in most of their matches.
At just 22 years old, Musah has already made nearly 50 appearances for the United States national team after his debut in 2020. His eligibility extends beyond the U.S.; he could have also represented England, Italy, or Ghana.
Atalanta’s Season Outlook
Atalanta, which recently finished third in Serie A, has had a shaky start to the season, drawing both of its initial matches against newly promoted teams Pisa and Parma after the departure of long-time coach Gian Piero Gasperini to Roma. The Bergamo club will be looking to turn their fortunes around when they host Lecce on September 14, following the international break, and then prepare for a challenging matchup against reigning Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain.
