WTA Resumes Activities for Coach Stefano Vukov
The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) has announced that Stefano Vukov, the coach for 2022 Wimbledon titleholder Elena Rybakina, is now permitted to resume his activities following a previously imposed suspension for a possible violation of the organization’s conduct guidelines.
Background of the Suspension
Initially suspended in January amid an ongoing investigation, Vukov’s status remained uncertain until the WTA completed its inquiry in February. The organization subsequently opted to maintain the suspension without disclosing its duration.
WTA’s Official Statement
On Friday, the WTA confirmed that Vukov is eligible once more to obtain credentials necessary for accessing player areas and practice venues during WTA events. In its official statement, the organization emphasized its commitment to fostering a safe and respectful atmosphere for all competitors, based on the principles outlined in the WTA Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Code.
The association pointed out that any disciplinary actions arising from breaches of these regulations undergo careful evaluation and may be challenged before an independent tribunal.
While specifics of the case are not public, it was stated that Vukov can now attend WTA tournaments.
