Potential Landing Spots for Stanley
Several NHL franchises could emerge as logical landing spots for the towering defenseman. The San Jose Sharks represent an intriguing possibility, as the struggling franchise is actively seeking to strengthen its back line following a difficult season. San Jose will have multiple defensive vacancies to fill and has identified reinforcing the blueline’s physical presence as a priority.
Out East, the Pittsburgh Penguins could view Stanley as a solution to their left-side defensive needs. The club’s infrastructure supports a role in which Stanley could develop as both a bottom-pairing contributor and special teams asset. At his current age, he would align well with Pittsburgh’s organizational timeline focused on gradual team building.
Perhaps most intriguingly, the Winnipeg Jets might pursue a reunion with Stanley. The 6-foot-7 defenseman demonstrated his capabilities during his stint in Winnipeg, where he accumulated nine goals and 21 points across 59 games before being dealt to Buffalo.
The Jets have maintained interest in their former first-round selection and could attempt to reclaim him should he reach free agency.
