Warriors star Stephen Curry likely sidelined until post-All-Star break, according to coach Steve Kerr

Stephen Curry’s Injury Update

Stephen Curry, the star guard of the Golden State Warriors, has been sidelined for three consecutive games due to a knee injury, and indications suggest that he will be unavailable for at least two more contests. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr addressed the media on Saturday, revealing that it is probable Curry will not return to the court until the All-Star break has concluded.

Upcoming Games and Team Challenges

Kerr confirmed that Curry would definitely miss that evening’s showdown against the Los Angeles Lakers and expressed doubt regarding his participation in the upcoming game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday.

“There’s a good chance he doesn’t play until after the break,”

Kerr stated, while emphasizing a cautious, day-to-day approach to Curry’s rehabilitation.

Tuesday’s game against the Grizzlies is critical, as it is one of only two games for the Warriors before the All-Star festivities, with another matchup scheduled against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday. The team will resume their season on February 19 with a game against the Boston Celtics.

Roster Challenges

In Curry’s absence, the Warriors have been navigating through a rough patch, dealing with significant roster challenges. The team is without Jimmy Butler, who is out for the season due to a torn ACL. Moreover, they recently lost key players Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield to the Atlanta Hawks in a trade that brought big man Kristaps Porzingis to Golden State. However, Porzingis is also unavailable as he recovers from an Achilles injury sustained in January, although Kerr shared hope that he might return following the All-Star break.

Meanwhile, as the team approached their game against the Lakers, they found themselves in a precarious position in the Western Conference, holding the eighth seed with a record of 28 wins against 24 losses.

This injury setback for Curry and the subsequent roster complications leave the Warriors with tough challenges ahead as they aim to remain competitive in the playoff race.
