UEFA Champions League Draw Details
The upcoming UEFA Champions League is set to feature Paris Saint-Germain alongside 35 other competing teams during the draw scheduled for Thursday, August 28, in Monaco. This ceremonial event will kick off at noon ET (5 p.m. in the UK).
For context, last year’s draw, the first under a new league phase, lasted about 75 minutes and included the presentation of the UEFA awards for the 2024-25 season.
Draw Specifics
As for the draw specifics, the details regarding the draw pots will be finalized after the last qualifying matches on Wednesday. Participating teams will each be assigned to play eight matches, facing two teams from separate pots. Notably, teams from the same nation cannot meet in the group stages – for instance, Arsenal cannot be drawn against Chelsea.
Additionally, a team may face a maximum of two opponents from the same country; thus, Liverpool could draw both Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen but would be unable to face Eintracht Frankfurt.
Matchday Schedule
The competitive fixtures are set to unfold over several matchdays starting from September: Matchday 1 will occur between September 16 and 18, followed by Matchday 2 on September 30 to October 1, extending to Matchday 3 on October 21-22, and continuing through to Matchday 8 on January 28. Kickoff times will be either at 12:55 p.m. ET (5:45 p.m. UK) or 3 p.m. ET (8 p.m. UK).

The fixture list is anticipated to be released on Saturday, August 30. Additionally, the draw for the knockout playoff round is scheduled for January 30, while the round of 16 and its knockout bracket draw will take place on February 27.
