Alexander Isak’s Rehabilitation
Alexander Isak is currently focused on his rehabilitation from a thigh injury at Real Sociedad’s training facilities, as confirmed by the Spanish club to ESPN. This comes after the forward missed out on Newcastle United’s preseason tour due to the injury, which the club has described as minor. Isak was absent for matches against Arsenal and a K-League XI, and he will also not participate in Newcastle’s upcoming fixture against Tottenham in South Korea.
Transfer Speculation
Reports suggest that the Swedish international is contemplating a move away from Newcastle this summer, with Liverpool reportedly at the forefront of interest should he become available for transfer. Despite this speculation, Newcastle maintains a firm stance on keeping Isak, with manager Eddie Howe asserting that the player is content at the club.
“[Isak] is still our player. He’s contracted to us. We control what is next for him,” Howe remarked, while also indicating that nothing is certain in football. He emphasized that no formal transfer offer for Isak has been submitted by any club.

Isak previously spent three successful years at Real Sociedad, establishing himself as a highly sought-after talent in European football, before signing with Newcastle in 2022. Since joining Newcastle, he has netted 44 goals across three seasons in the Premier League and still has three years remaining on his contract.
