Toronto Raptors Extend Bobby Webster’s Contract
The Toronto Raptors have made a significant move by extending the contract of Bobby Webster, promoting him to the role of executive vice president while affirming his position as general manager. This decision, confirmed by the franchise on Monday, not only extends Webster’s tenure but also sees him continue leading the basketball operations of the team he has been with since 2013.
Key Staff Extensions
Alongside him, integral staff members Dan Tolzman, Keith Boyarsky, and Tyla Flexman have also received contract extensions.
Webster’s Tenure and Achievements
At 41 years of age, Webster is entering his 10th season as general manager. The exact details of his new contract have not been revealed. He took the reins of the Raptors’ basketball operations in August 2025 following the dismissal of former president Masai Ujiri. During Webster’s tenure, the Raptors have achieved considerable success, including nine playoff appearances and a championship victory in 2019.
The Raptors posted a solid regular-season record of 591 wins and 455 losses, including five seasons with at least 50 wins. Last season, they concluded with a record of 46-36, making a spirited run in the playoffs before losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a tightly contested first round that went to seven games.
CEO’s Confidence in Webster
Keith Pelley, the CEO of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, expressed confidence in Webster’s abilities, stating:
“Bobby has an elite understanding of the game and the NBA, and he’s used that to build a team that competes at a high level. It’s been an exciting year for the Raptors. They were a joy to watch compete together, and we believe in where his leadership will take us.”
