The Sudbury, Ontario native is navigating his fourth season in the OHL, having experienced a notable career year last season where he netted 36 goals and contributed 55 points over 55 games, while splitting his time between the Owen Sound Attack and the Flint Firebirds. This season, in just seven outings with the Bulldogs, he has already accumulated four points, including two goals and two assists. Initially part of Brantford’s top six forwards, McCue has recently been repositioned to the third line, playing alongside teammates Luca Testa and Layne Gallacher.
Future Prospects
Despite his commitment to Bowling Green, there’s still a chance that McCue could ink an NHL contract with the Maple Leafs this season, potentially leading to a role with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies instead of attending college next year.
