NBA Coast 2 Coast Tuesday Returns
The NBA Coast 2 Coast Tuesday is making its comeback after a brief two-week break with an exciting doubleheader scheduled for this evening. Kicking off at 8 p.m. ET, the Dallas Mavericks, featuring rookie sensation Cooper Flagg, will be facing off against the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets currently boast a remarkable road winning streak, having clinched 11 consecutive victories away from home, led by three-time MVP Nikola Jokic. In their last encounter on December 1, Dallas emerged victorious with a 131-121 win in Denver.
Following the Mavericks-Nuggets clash, at 10:30 p.m. ET, the Houston Rockets, with veteran All-Star Kevin Durant, will continue their challenging six-game road journey as they take on the Los Angeles Clippers, who are led by enigmatic guard James Harden.
Fans will witness history when Cooper Flagg, who recently turned 19, attempts to become the first 18-year-old in NBA history to score over 40 points in a game. Unfortunately, despite Flagg’s efforts, the Mavericks just fell short against the Utah Jazz in a gripping overtime match.
This marks the Mavericks’ first appearance on NBC since their 2002 playoff matchup against the Sacramento Kings, a nail-biting game that ended in a 115-113 loss.

Nuggets Insights
Currently holding a record of 20-6, the Denver Nuggets have achieved their best start in franchise history, surpassing their previous best of 19-7 in the 2009-10 season. With an impressive scoring average of 125.6 points per game, Denver sits at the top of the league in both scoring and offensive efficiency. Jokic is having an incredible season, averaging a triple-double with 29.6 points per game, leading the league in assists (10.9) and rebounds (12.3), while Jamal Murray also shines as he achieves career-highs in scoring at 25.2 points per outing.
Head coach David Adelman has faced challenges recently, getting ejected for confronting officials during a loss to the Rockets that halted the Nuggets’ six-game winning streak.
Mavericks Update
The Mavericks are on a resurgence, boasting a 6-2 record in their past eight games after a rocky 5-15 start to the season. This turnaround has been partly attributed to the return of Anthony Davis, who has made a significant impact since recovering from a left calf strain, averaging over 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game. Since his arrival, the team’s performance has notably improved whenever he is on the court.
In addition, Flagg, the standout rookie from Duke University, has been remarkable lately, scoring over 25 points and shooting above 50% over his last eight games. Coach Jason Kidd‘s decision to start rookie point guard Ryan Nembhard has also proven beneficial, as he leads all NBA rookies with 5.3 assists per game.
