Timberwolves Stage a Comeback
In an electrifying showdown on Wednesday, the Minnesota Timberwolves staged a comeback from an 18-point deficit to secure a thrilling 128-126 victory against the Toronto Raptors. Anthony Edwards shone brightest for Minnesota, contributing 30 points, including 13 crucial points scored in the final quarter.
Team Contributions
The Timberwolves, now on a roll with five wins in their last six outings, showcased strong support with Jaden McDaniels netting 19 points, while both Naz Reid and Julius Randle chipped in with 17. Donte DiVincenzo rallied for 15 points as the team marked their fifth road win this season. Rudy Gobert also made notable contributions with a double-double, amassing 10 points and 12 rebounds. This victory proved significant as Minnesota improved their record against Eastern Conference foes to 14 wins against 5 losses.
Raptors’ Struggles
Despite a valiant effort from the Raptors, who were led by Brandon Ingram’s 25 points, the team fell short once again at home, suffering their fourth loss in the last five games at Scotiabank Arena. Immanuel Quickley and Scottie Barnes added 23 and 22 points, respectively, with Barnes also snagging 10 rebounds. Toronto had surged to a substantial lead at one point, going up 77-59 early in the third after a strong start.
Ingram’s heroic last-second 3-pointer was futile as they could not overcome their mistakes in the fourth quarter, where they committed seven of their total 13 turnovers.
Looking Ahead
As the Raptors head toward the trade deadline, they did so without guard Ochai Agbaji in the lineup. The Timberwolves will face the New Orleans Pelicans next, while the Raptors prepare to host the Chicago Bulls in an opportunity to bounce back.
