Tijjani Reijnders to undergo medical with Manchester City ahead of €55 million transfer

Tijjani Reijnders’ Transfer to Manchester City

Tijjani Reijnders is scheduled to undergo a medical examination with Manchester City on Sunday, after which he will promptly return to the Netherlands’ national team training camp. Earlier this week, sources informed ESPN that Manchester City and AC Milan had finalized a transfer deal valued at €55 million (approximately $62 million) for the midfielder. Reijnders is poised to sign a five-year contract with the Premier League club.

Reijnders’ Comments on the Move

“On Sunday, I’ll travel from here to Manchester and then head back to Zeist in the evening,”

Reijnders commented on his impending move following the Netherlands’ 2-0 victory over Finland in World Cup qualifying. He assured fans that all plans were in place to complete the transfer in a single day, saying:

“Everything is set and planned to do it within a day. I will be back with the national team on Sunday.”

Urgency to Finalize Deal

Reijnders also noted the urgency of finalizing the deal before the transfer window for the Club World Cup closes on Tuesday. “Yes, the registration closes, so it needed to be done quickly,” he added. He expressed enthusiasm about joining Manchester City, especially as they prepare for an upcoming trip to the United States for the tournament.

“I look forward to getting to know my new teammates right away. I already know Nathan Aké from the Netherlands team, but I’m eager to integrate with everyone,”

he remarked.

Upcoming Matches and Performance

Manchester City’s first match in the tournament is set against Wydad AC on June 18, while player registration must be completed by June 10. This past season, Reijnders had an impressive performance in Serie A, netting 10 goals across 37 matches. He previously played in the Eredivisie with AZ Alkmaar and PEC Zwolle.
