Despite a commendable effort to rally from a 3-0 series deficit by winning both Game 4 and Game 5, the team ultimately fell short in Game 6, marking the end of their season.

Key Players Facing Uncertain Futures
Among the players whose futures appear uncertain with the team, goaltender Stuart Skinner is under scrutiny following a lackluster playoff performance. Skinner, who joined the Penguins from the Edmonton Oilers during the season, saw his starting position disappear, losing the crease to Arturs Silovs. Having played 27 games with the Penguins and achieving a record of 12 wins, 9 losses, and 5 overtime losses, along with a 2.99 goals-against average and an .885 save percentage, it remains to be seen if he will be retained, especially with promising goalie prospect Sergei Murashov poised for NHL action.
Forward Kevin Hayes, another UFA on the Penguins’ roster, is unlikely to return next season as well. In 50 regular-season games, Clifton recorded two goals and four assists, along with a minus-3 rating in three playoff appearances.
