Thomas Tuchel Expresses Confidence in Harry Kane as England Prepares for World Cup

Tuchel’s Confidence in Kane Ahead of World Cup

In a recent discussion about his attacking lineup for the upcoming World Cup, England manager Thomas Tuchel expressed confidence in Harry Kane‘s capabilities despite any concerns about the forward’s recent form. Kane, now at 32, matched the iconic Bob Moore with his 108th national cap during England’s 2-0 victory over Andorra on Saturday, although his performance in that match was underwhelming, registering only two shots and twelve touches.

“Kane has already netted four or five goals with Bayern this season, which assures me that he is in good shape,”

Tuchel remarked, underlining his unwavering belief in the striker’s talents.

England’s Striking Options

Kane, who played the full match against Andorra, is expected to lead the England side yet again in their critical Group K showdown against Serbia in Belgrade on Tuesday. In terms of options within his squad, Tuchel voiced optimism regarding England’s striking capabilities. Aside from Kane, they have Ollie Watkins as their additional center-forward, with other potential options including Marcus Rashford and Jarrod Bowen, along with Anthony Gordon, who has also played centrally for Newcastle.

“We have a lot of options at number nine, and that gives us plenty of firepower. As we head closer to the tournament, it’s crucial for our players to find their form. We’ll see who shines and makes a mark in the Premier League leading up to the World Cup.”

The manager also acknowledged players like Phil Foden and Morgan Rogers, who can both play in the striking position, as part of England’s depth in talent. With this variety of forwards, Tuchel looks forward to strengthening England’s offensive strategy as they prepare for the global stage.
