Farewell Address to Brentford Fans
In a heartfelt farewell, Thomas Frank has addressed the Brentford faithful following the announcement of his move to Tottenham Hotspur after dedicating nearly a decade to the Bees. The Danish manager’s transition comes after Tottenham decided to let go of Ange Postecoglou last week, and he officially took over on Thursday.
Frank’s Journey with Brentford
Frank’s journey with Brentford began in 2016 when he joined as an assistant manager. His leadership culminated in achieving promotion to the Premier League—the club’s first ever—in 2021. Since then, he has successfully navigated the challenges of the top division, maintaining Brentford’s status amongst England’s elite clubs.

“The time has come for me to move on. But, even as I leave, I know I have left a big piece of my heart at Brentford, not just at the football club but with the community and, of course, the incredible and loyal supporters,” Frank shared.
Frank took a moment to recognize the opportunity he was afforded by the club, stating,
“I want to extend my profound gratitude to the club for giving me the chance to pursue my dreams and for everyone involved who made the journey such a memorable one.”
He noted that his family has deeply valued their time as part of this community, describing the experience as one that they will cherish forever.

Last season marked a significant campaign for Brentford, as they fought for a possible European qualification finish, eventually concluding the season in 10th place—a reflection of the club’s ability to defy expectations with limited resources. Frank commented on the collective achievement during his tenure, emphasizing that the success was born out of unity and ambition at every level of the club and among the fans.
“Whatever we have achieved, we have achieved together,” he remarked, highlighting the contributions from all corners of the club.
Gratitude Towards Ownership
Frank left a special thanks to club owner Matthew Benham, whose support has been pivotal.
“His trust and friendship have meant so much and the fact he gave me a chance in English football means I will always owe him a debt of gratitude. Thank you, Matt,” he expressed warmly.
