University of Tennessee Welcomes Top Junior Tennis Player

In a significant boost for their men’s tennis program, the University of Tennessee has brought on board Anas Bennour Dit Sahli, who is currently recognized as the top junior player from Tunisia. This announcement was made by Tennessee’s associate head coach, Matt Lucas, who expressed enthusiasm about the addition after getting to know Bennour Dit Sahli throughout the recruitment phase.

“Anas has had an incredible junior career and has established himself as one of the elite junior players globally,”

Lucas noted. He further highlighted that not only is Bennour Dit Sahli ranked in the top two players in Africa, but he has also garnered ATP points in both singles and doubles competitions.

His arrival is seen as a promising addition to the Vols’ squad, which is already nurturing a promising group of young talents.

“We are excited to guide these players in their pursuit of professional tennis,”

Lucas added.

2025 Signing Class and Team Development

Bennour Dit Sahli is part of the 2025 signing class that includes new talents like Shion Itsusaki from Osaka, Japan; Ethan Muza from Baylor; Piotr Siekanowicz from Delaware; and Boruch Skierkier from Valdosta State.

Leading the program into his tenth season, head coach Chris Woodruff, who played for Tennessee from 1991 to 1993, continues to build a competitive team.
