However, Tennessee’s Evans, Estrella, and Boswell responded with crucial baskets, pushing the lead back to 59-49 with just nine minutes left. Auburn fought back again, closing the gap to 59-56 thanks to Filip Jovic’s three-point play following an offensive rebound.

Tennessee’s Gillespie then closed out the match with four crucial points, allowing the Volunteers to secure the victory with a closing run of 6-0.
