Stephen Curry Misses Another Game as Warriors Face Pacers

Warriors Without Curry

The Golden State Warriors will be without their star player, Stephen Curry, for the third consecutive game due to an illness. Just two hours before their scheduled home game against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night, it was confirmed that Curry would not be participating.

Impact of Illness

The illness began affecting him after a recent road trip that included games in Indianapolis and Milwaukee. Although he tried to push through the sickness during a victory against the Phoenix Suns earlier in the week, Curry admitted feeling completely drained during the latter part of that game. Subsequently, he missed the Warriors’ two away losses against the Kings and Nuggets.

Coaching Decisions

Following four days of recovery, he was initially listed as questionable for the game against the Pacers. However, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr announced prior to tip-off that the team’s medical staff decided on a more cautious approach regarding Curry’s health, ruling him out for the night.

Coach Kerr mentioned that Curry plans to engage in workouts on the practice court on Sunday evening and again on Monday morning. If all goes well with his recovery, there’s optimism that he may be ready to play on Tuesday in Oklahoma City as the Warriors embark on a challenging six-game road trip across five cities.

Team Performance

The Warriors started the season strong with a 4-1 record, but they’ve struggled recently, losing four out of their last five games and now sitting at .500 with a 5-5 record. Notably, the team is on a troubling eight-game losing streak, including playoffs, when Curry is not in the lineup.

Pacers’ Struggles

Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers come into this matchup weary, having lost their last game to the Nuggets and missing several key players, including Pascal Siakam, leaving their record at a disappointing 1-8. Interestingly, the Pacers’ sole victory this season was against the Warriors, adding extra significance to this matchup.
