St. Louis Blues Bolster Defense with Trade for Veteran Calle Rosen

St. Louis Blues Enhance Defensive Options

In a move aimed at enhancing their defensive options, the St. Louis Blues have completed a trade with the Washington Capitals, bringing in veteran defenseman Calle Rosen. This trade involved the transfer of Corey Schueneman to Washington.

Calle Rosen’s Performance

Rosen, who is 31 years old, has been performing well in the American Hockey League, tallying seven points—comprising one goal and six assists—in just nine games with the Hershey Bears during the current season.

Rosen is no stranger to the Blues, having played for the team in various capacities over the last three seasons, where he appeared in a total of 73 games and made significant contributions with 10 goals and 15 assists, along with a plus-17 rating. His last season with the Blues was particularly notable; he played in 49 regular-season games and achieved career-highs in both points and goals, finishing with 18 points, including eight goals and ten assists.

Experience and Future Plans

His experience spans seven NHL seasons, during which he has suited up for franchises such as the Toronto Maple Leafs, Colorado Avalanche, and the Blues. Rosen is set to report to the Springfield Thunderbirds, the AHL affiliate of the Blues, to further bolster their lineup.

Injury Updates and Team Prospects

In another update, the Blues are hopeful about the potential return of their standout center Robert Thomas, who has been sidelined for four games due to an upper-body injury. The team’s prospects are also looking sharp, with various players making headlines in recent matches and tournaments.
