“Absolutely, I believe he can compete at that level. However, Callum did face challenges against Beterbiev; the latter’s strength was a deciding factor, and I feel a more refined jab and footwork would enhance Callum’s chances to evade such power. This issue also surfaced during the fight against Canelo. In contrast, I believe he has a stronger chance against a fighter like Bivol.”
For Skoglund, the bout with Smith was the last of his career due to severe injuries sustained during the match, yet he remains deeply engaged with boxing. Training regularly, he hopes to one day re-enter the squared circle, perhaps in an exhibition format.
Smith’s Resurgence and Future Prospects
