Henderson Silver Knights Secure Playoff Spot

In a thrilling turn of events this weekend, the Henderson Silver Knights secured their place in the Calder Cup Playoffs with two impressive regulation victories. Their path to the postseason was fraught with challenges, starting Friday when they found themselves down by three goals in the second period against the Tucson Roadrunners. However, they rebounded to win that match, setting the stage for a dramatic showdown on Saturday.

Saturday’s Dramatic Showdown

On Saturday, with under two minutes to go in the third period and trailing the Roadrunners 4-3, the Silver Knights showcased their determination. After pulling goaltender Carl Lindbom for an extra skater, Dylan Coghlan found the back of the net to tie the game. With time winding down, the excitement reached a fever pitch as Braedan Bowman played a pivotal role, ultimately scoring the game-winning goal just before the final buzzer, securing a 5-4 victory.

“I was pretty fired up. I went to [Dylan Coghlan] and just started screaming. It’s cool to be back with these guys… Obviously, to clinch a playoff berth, that was pretty special.”

With this win, the Silver Knights not only celebrated their first playoff berth since the 2021-22 season but also proved their resilience in tight situations.
