Seattle Seahawks set to appoint Brian Fleury of the 49ers as new offensive coordinator, per insider

Seattle Seahawks Set to Name New Offensive Coordinator

The Seattle Seahawks are on the verge of naming Brian Fleury, currently the tight ends coach and run game coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers, as their new offensive coordinator. This information has been confirmed by a source familiar with the situation, who chose to remain anonymous since the agreement has yet to be officially finalized.

Brian Fleury’s Coaching Background

Fleury has been with the 49ers since 2019 and has seen a steady progression within the coaching ranks, originally starting as a defensive quality control coach. Most recently, he held the titles of both tight ends coach and run game coordinator, a role he has filled since 2025.

His appointment comes in the wake of Klint Kubiak’s announcement that he will be taking over as the head coach for the Las Vegas Raiders, following the Super Bowl. Kubiak’s move also involves bringing along Seahawks quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko with him to Las Vegas, as reported by the same anonymous source.

Experience and Career Highlights

Fleury brings a wealth of experience to Seattle, having been part of the NFL coaching landscape since 2013. Before his tenure with the 49ers, he contributed to the coaching efforts of the Buffalo Bills, and has also coached at various colleges, including the University of Maryland, Sacred Heart, and Towson University. Notably, Fleury began his football career as a walk-on quarterback at Maryland before continuing to play for Towson, making him well-versed in both offensive strategies and player development.

Looking Ahead

As the Seahawks prepare for Fleury’s integration into their coaching staff, they will also need to address the vacancy left by Janocko’s move to the Raiders.
