Manchester City Confirms Savinho’s Contract Extension
Manchester City has officially confirmed that Brazilian winger Savinho has agreed to a contract extension. This new deal secures his place at the Etihad Stadium until 2031, including the possibility of an additional year. The extension will keep him at the club for two extra years beyond the end of his initial deal, which was set to run out in 2029.
Commitment to the Club
Despite being pursued by Tottenham Hotspur during the recent summer transfer period, Savinho has opted to commit his future to City. Expressing his pride, the 21-year-old stated:
“I am incredibly proud to be able to sign this new contract with City. It’s a very special feeling to know that Pep [Guardiola] and the club have placed such faith in me.”
Savinho emphasized his desire to grow as a player, acknowledging his youth and eagerness to learn. He added:
“I know that working with Pep and his staff will help me to keep developing as a player. From the moment I first arrived, I have loved my time at City.”
He also thanked the club for their support and promised to give his all in pursuit of further success for the club.
Manchester City’s Commitment to Young Talent
This extension reflects Manchester City’s commitment to retaining young talent, as Savinho joins the ranks of other notable players like Erling Haaland and Rúben Dias who have recently extended their contracts. Guardiola had previously expressed a strong desire to keep Savinho for the long term, stating he sees great potential in the young player.
Director of Football Hugo Viana also praised Savinho, noting his remarkable skills and vast potential, stating that his capabilities suggest he could evolve into a truly exceptional player in the future.
As the team prepares for their upcoming matches, including a fixture against Brentford, the recent commitment from Savinho strengthens the team’s outlook for the seasons to come.
