Sam Coffey, the 26-year-old United States midfielder, has solidified her commitment to the Portland Thorns by signing a contract that will keep her with the NWSL team until the conclusion of the 2027 season. According to ESPN sources, this extension was initially agreed upon in March 2024 but went unannounced at that time by both Coffey and the club.

Previously, Coffey had a contract signed in November 2022 that was set to terminate at the end of this season. Her longevity with the Thorns, now in her fourth year, is noteworthy as she has become an integral player for both her club and the U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT).
During her tenure with Portland, she has participated in 93 matches across league and cup competitions, registering four goals. Her contributions helped the Thorns clinch the NWSL Championship in 2022. Honors for her outstanding performances include being selected for the NWSL Best XI in both 2022 and 2023.
International Achievements
