Upcoming NBA Season for the Sacramento Kings
As the anticipation builds for the upcoming 2025-26 NBA season, the Sacramento Kings have revealed details regarding their initial matchups. The team will embark on their season journey with an away game against the Phoenix Suns on October 22, according to a report by Sean Cunningham from KCRA.
Home Debut and Key Matchups
Following their opening game, the Kings will return home to the Golden 1 Center for their debut at home, scheduled for October 24 against the Utah Jazz. Just two days later, on October 26, they’ll face off against the Los Angeles Lakers in another home contest.
Return of Former Coach Mike Brown
In a noteworthy event, the Kings will welcome back former head coach Mike Brown when the New York Knicks come to town on January 14. Brown, who coached the Kings for nearly three seasons, was dismissed in December 2024 after a challenging start to the season. He is celebrated for leading the Kings to the playoffs for the first time in 16 years during the 2022-23 season, famously known as the “Beam Team”.
In recent times, however, the Kings have struggled, failing to advance past the NBA Play-In Tournament in two consecutive seasons.
Looking Ahead
With Doug Christie now assuming a full-time coaching role, the Kings are hopeful for a successful season ahead, starting with their match in Phoenix this October.
