Red Panda’s Recovery Update
Basketball enthusiasts have received encouraging news regarding the beloved performer Red Panda, who is set to recover in time for the upcoming season. Known offstage as Rong Niu, the renowned acrobat suffered a broken left wrist after a mishap during her halftime performance at the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup final on Tuesday night, where the Indiana Fever triumphed over the Minnesota Lynx.
Incident Details
Following the incident, which was attributed to damage sustained by her unicycle during transport, Red Panda was promptly rushed to a hospital in Minneapolis. She spent a lengthy 11 hours there, accompanied fully by two members of the Lynx staff, as confirmed by her agent, Patrick Figley. After leaving the hospital, she is now on her way home to begin a recovery process that is expected to take several months, during which she’ll also seek further evaluation from an orthopedic surgeon.
“She is very grateful for all the support and kind messages she has received,” Figley stated.

During the post-game celebrations, Indiana star Caitlin Clark publicly expressed her best wishes for Red Panda, commenting on teammate Sydney Colson’s Instagram live stream:
