Puma Takes Over as Official Supplier of Premier League Match Ball with New Design for 2025-26 Season

Premier League Announces New Match Ball Supplier

As anticipation builds for the upcoming season, the Premier League has announced a significant change regarding its match ball for the 2025-26 season.

For the first time in 25 years, the league will feature a ball from a brand other than Nike, with Puma stepping in as the new supplier. This shift marks Puma as only the third manufacturer to provide the official match ball since the league’s inception in the 1992-93 season.

Previously, Mitre held the role of exclusive supplier until 2000, after which Nike took over and delivered 25 versions of their match ball until the conclusion of their partnership last season.

Details on the New Match Ball

The new Puma Orbita Ultimate PL match ball is set to make its first appearance in July during the Premier League Summer Series, which will include exhibition matches featuring teams like Manchester United, Everton, West Ham, and Bournemouth across various venues in the United States.

Following these matches, the new ball will officially be used starting with the league’s kickoff weekend on August 16.

Design and Functionality of the Orbita Ultimate PL

In terms of design and functionality, the Orbita Ultimate PL features 12 carefully crafted star-shaped panels that are designed to promote an even distribution of weight and maintain the ball’s shape. Its oversized stitched seams are intended to enhance aerodynamic performance, making it one of the most reliable and consistently round footballs ever manufactured.

Such advancements in technology and design seek to elevate the on-field experience as the Premier League moves into this new era with Puma’s involvement.
