AC Milan’s Injury Woes
AC Milan’s hopes of fielding Christian Pulisic in their upcoming Serie A match against Lazio have been dashed by the player’s recent injury setback. Coach Massimiliano Allegri announced on Thursday that the American forward is not expected to participate in the game scheduled for this weekend.
Pulisic’s Recent Injury
After recently recovering from a hamstring injury, Pulisic experienced some muscular discomfort and had to exit training on Wednesday, as reported by Italian media outlets. Although there are still a couple of days left before the match, Allegri remains doubtful about Pulisic’s fitness.
“It’s unlikely Pulisic will be ready for play, but with two days until the match, there is a slight chance things could change,”
Previous Struggles
This latest concern follows Pulisic’s earlier struggles, including a low-grade hamstring tear sustained during a friendly match where the U.S. national team triumphed over Australia on October 17. He only recently made his return to the pitch as a substitute in a 2-2 draw against Parma on November 8.
Impact on AC Milan
Despite missing the November national team call-up for friendlies against Paraguay and Uruguay, Pulisic notably shone in a crucial victory for Milan against arch-rivals Inter, scoring the winning goal just last weekend. Ahead of their clash with Lazio, AC Milan finds themselves two points adrift of Serie A leaders Roma.
