Potential August 9 Match: The Liver King Challenges Joe Rogan

Celebrity Boxing Fight Proposal

Celebrity Boxing has officially proposed a fight between Brian Johnson, known as ‘The Liver King’, and renowned podcaster Joe Rogan, aiming to resolve their ongoing feud that has lasted three years. Damon Feldman, the owner of Celebrity Boxing, has outlined the details for the much-anticipated showdown, scheduled for August 9, assuming both parties agree to the terms.

“Let’s make this happen. No more talk. The Celebrity Boxing offer is on the table. It’ll be three one-minute rounds, and no one can decline this challenge.”

Background of the Rivalry

The rivalry between Johnson and Rogan began in 2022 when Rogan publicly criticized Johnson after revelations about his steroid use. Johnson had previously built a brand around health and fitness, promoting an ‘ancestral lifestyle’ that included a diet rich in raw meat and organs, while claiming to build his physique naturally. However, it was later revealed that Johnson was spending approximately $11,000 each month on steroids and human growth hormones, contradicting his drug-free public persona.

During an episode of his podcast, ‘Joe Rogan Experience’, Rogan confronted Johnson about his denial of steroid use, a denial that Johnson later recanted. The fallout from these revelations was significant, with some of Johnson’s followers attempting to sue him for $25 million, which he partially attributed to Rogan’s criticisms.

Recent Developments

Tensions escalated when Johnson challenged Rogan to a fight through a series of Instagram posts, stating,

“Man to man, I’m picking a fight with you. Your rules, I’ll come to you, whenever you’re ready.”

Despite the verbal exchanges, Rogan holds a significant advantage in a potential matchup, being a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, while Johnson lacks any formal martial arts training.

The situation intensified when Johnson visited Rogan’s hometown of Austin, Texas, to confront him directly. Feeling threatened, Rogan contacted law enforcement, which led to Johnson’s arrest on June 24 at the Four Seasons Hotel for making a terroristic threat, classified as a Class B misdemeanor. He was released the following day after posting a $20,000 bond and returned promptly to the same hotel.

Johnson, who claims to weigh in at 178 pounds, has refrained from commenting extensively about Rogan until the restraining order against him is lifted.

Concerns and Future Outlook

In light of the entire scenario, Rogan has expressed concerns about Johnson’s mental state, suggesting that he may be unstable and possibly under the influence of drugs, which leads him to remain vigilant. As of now, Rogan has not publicly replied to Johnson’s challenge and is unlikely to accept the fight under Celebrity Boxing’s stipulations, even as the date approaches.
