Pittsburgh Penguins’ Sergei Murashov and Will Horcoff Featured in TSN’s Top 50 NHL Prospects

In the latest rankings of NHL prospects, Craig Button of TSN highlights two emerging talents within the Pittsburgh Penguins organization: goalie Sergei Murashov and forward Will Horcoff.

Sergei Murashov

Making notable strides this season, Murashov earned the 12th overall position following impressive performances with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The young netminder has showcased his skills by achieving a record of 20 wins, 7 losses, and 3 overtime losses in 31 games, while maintaining a commendable 2.18 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage, along with three shutouts.

Additionally, he has appeared in five games for the NHL squad this year, recording a .897 save percentage.

Will Horcoff

Conversely, Horcoff, chosen in the first round of the 2025 draft, holds the 50th spot on Button’s list. His second season at the University of Michigan has been nothing short of remarkable; the towering 6-foot-5 forward has netted 23 goals and amassed 36 points in 35 games, along with 56 penalty minutes and a plus-8 rating.
