Pittsburgh Penguins Adjust Roster Before Clash with Avalanche

Pittsburgh Penguins Roster Changes Ahead of Game

In preparation for their upcoming game against the Colorado Avalanche, the Pittsburgh Penguins have revamped their roster by making key changes.

Player Movements

The team has re-summoned defenseman Jack St. Ivany from his rehabilitation stint with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Meanwhile, fellow defenseman Alexander Alexeyev has been reassigned back to the AHL affiliate in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Jack St. Ivany’s Performance

During his brief time with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, St. Ivany played in three matches, recording one assist and finishing with a positive plus-1 rating. His return to the Penguins is significant as he has not participated in a game for the main roster since January 25 due to an injury, but now he aims to contribute to the Penguins’ efforts. In his previous 17 appearances this season with Pittsburgh, he has achieved a career-best with seven assists and accumulated 40 hits.

Alexander Alexeyev’s Situation

Conversely, Alexeyev did not have the opportunity to debut with the Penguins during his latest call-up. Across 29 games this season with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton club, he has managed three goals and seven total points, along with 15 penalty minutes and a plus-4 rating.

Strategic Adjustments

These adjustments reflect the Penguins’ strategy to strengthen their defensive lineup ahead of a key matchup.
