As the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins gear up for the 2026 Calder Cup Playoffs, they have strengthened their roster by signing three forwards to amateur tryout contracts. Announced on Thursday, the new additions are Kale Dach, Jordan Charron, and Travis Hayes, all of whom were drafted by the Penguins in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.

Kale Dach, selected in the seventh round, just concluded an impressive season with the WHL’s Calgary Hitmen. Over 63 games, he notched 34 goals and accrued 75 points, and made a notable playoff contribution with three goals and seven points in seven games. This season with Calgary will be his only one in the WHL as he is set to attend Penn State for the 2026-27 academic year.
Jordan Charron, picked in the fifth round of the same draft, recently completed his second season with the OHL’s Soo Greyhounds. He demonstrated his scoring ability throughout the season, finishing with 25 goals and 47 points over 66 games, and added three goals along with four points in 10 playoff matchups.
Lastly, Travis Hayes was selected in the fourth round and has been Charron’s teammate for the last two seasons, totaling 16 goals and 40 points in 63 games this season. He also contributed during playoffs with one goal and three points across 10 games and is recognized as the younger brother of fellow athlete Avery Hayes.
