Orlando City SC’s Interest in Richarlison

Orlando City SC reportedly expressed interest in acquiring Brazilian forward Richarlison from Tottenham Hotspur during the previous summer transfer window, as indicated by sources cited by ESPN Brasil. The Major League Soccer (MLS) club aimed to secure Richarlison’s services ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, intending to position him as a central figure in their lineup. However, negotiations for a transfer faltered over a proposed fee that was estimated to be around €40 million (approximately $46.4 million).

Richarlison’s Commitment to Tottenham

The 28-year-old player, who has been with the Premier League side since 2022 after transferring from Everton for a substantial fee of £60 million (around $80.4 million), has expressed his commitment to continuing with Tottenham. Richarlison previously shared his desire to remain in London for at least another season, indicating that he rejected an offer from a club in the Saudi Pro League in August. The forward believed that a relocation could jeopardize his prospects for selection in Brazil’s national team ahead of the World Cup.

Current Status and Performance

Currently, Richarlison is under contract with Tottenham until June 2027. In the ongoing Premier League season, he has made seven appearances, contributing three goals and one assist. At present, he is preparing for international friendlies with the Brazilian squad, set to compete against South Korea and Japan shortly.
