In a standout performance at Waco, Texas, Olivia Miles made headlines by securing a career-best 40 points, leading the 17th-ranked TCU women’s basketball team to an impressive 83-67 victory against the 12th-ranked Baylor Bears on Thursday.
Third Quarter Explosion
Her shooting prowess was particularly evident in the third quarter, where she exploded for 23 points, converting 7 of 9 attempts from three-point range. This surge allowed TCU to expand a four-point halftime lead into a commanding 13-point margin by the end of the period, marking the highest single-quarter score by any Division I player since Caitlin Clark’s remarkable outing on February 15, 2024.
Milestone Achievements
Miles also achieved her milestone of 10 made 3-pointers during the game, further solidifying her status as one of the season’s standout players, as she has consistently scored at least 12 points in every game so far.
Supporting her on the scoresheet, Marta Suarez contributed significantly with 27 points and secured six rebounds for the Horned Frogs, who now boast a record of 22 wins against four losses and sit at 10-3 in the Big 12.
Baylor’s Efforts
On the opposing side, Taliah Scott led Baylor’s efforts with 22 points, successfully reaching the 1,000-point mark in her collegiate career.
