In a remarkable display of skill and determination, Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets made history by surpassing Oscar Robertson in the NBA’s all-time triple-double leaderboard. During a game against the Chicago Bulls on Saturday, Jokic recorded impressive stats with 22 points, 17 assists, and 14 rebounds. This performance marked his 182nd career triple-double, solidifying his position as the second greatest in NBA history after Russell Westbrook, who holds the record at 207 triple-doubles.
Jokic’s Tribute to a Legend
Jokic’s 19th triple-double of the season was particularly notable as it came just two games after his previous one, showcasing his exceptional ability on the court. After the game, Jokic paid tribute to Robertson, acknowledging his status as a trailblazer in the league.
“He is a legendary player,”
Jokic remarked, referring to Robertson’s historic achievement as the first player to average a triple-double in an entire season back in 1961-62.
“Any player who steps into this league knows he’s a global legend.”

The Nuggets secured a 136-120 victory, further bolstered by Jokic’s incredible performance. Nuggets coach David Adelman expressed admiration for Jokic’s abilities, stating that witnessing a center achieve 17 assists in a game is unfathomable, highlighting the uniqueness of Jokic’s talent.
