St. Louis Blues Extend Contract with Nikita Alexandrov
The St. Louis Blues have officially extended their relationship with forward Nikita Alexandrov, signing him to a two-way contract for one year. Under the terms of the agreement, Alexandrov will earn $750,000 while playing at the NHL level and $300,000 in the AHL, with a guaranteed minimum of $350,000 included.
Alexandrov’s Performance and Career Highlights
In the prior season, Alexandrov showcased his scoring capability by netting 21 goals and contributing 49 assists in just 48 appearances with the Springfield Thunderbirds. Drafted in the second round by the Blues in 2019, the 24-year-old has made his mark in the NHL with 51 games played, where he has recorded three goals and six assists.
Over the last three seasons in the AHL, he has nearly averaged a point per game, accumulating 58 goals and amassing a total of 129 points over 170 games played, in addition to achieving 10 points during 23 games in the Calder Cup Playoffs.
Outlook for the Upcoming Season
Despite the Blues’ strong roster of forwards, which poses a challenge for Alexandrov to secure a spot on the NHL team as they enter training camp, he is expected to play a pivotal role in leading the Thunderbirds’ offensive efforts this coming season.
