Knicks Strengthen Roster with New Signings
The New York Knicks have bolstered their roster by signing center Trey Jemison III and forward Tosan Evbuomwan to two-way contracts, as reported by SNY’s NBA Insider Ian Begley. This strategic move aims to enhance their depth in the frontcourt.
Trey Jemison III
Jemison, standing at 6 feet 11 inches and weighing 270 pounds, has a diverse experience in the NBA, having played 63 games across four different teams in the last two seasons, including 14 starts. Last year, he contributed to the Los Angeles Lakers and the New Orleans Pelicans, averaging 10.3 minutes per game with stats reflecting 2.5 points and 2.8 rebounds. His most significant performance came during his time with the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2023-24 season, where he played 23 games, started 14, and delivered averages of 7.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.2 blocks in approximately 25 minutes per outing.
After going undrafted in 2023 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), he initially participated in the Suns’ Summer League before signing with the Pelicans’ G League team.
Tosan Evbuomwan
Meanwhile, Evbuomwan, 24, offers the Knicks additional flexibility. Initially inked to an Exhibit 10 contract, his deal has been updated to a two-way contract. The 6-foot-8 Princeton alumnus has seen action in 45 games over the past two seasons, earning eight starts, most recently with the Brooklyn Nets during the 2024-25 campaign. He recorded averages of 9.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 24 minutes while coming off the bench.
Evbuomwan also went undrafted in 2023, after previously making a name for himself at Princeton.
Future Prospects
With these latest additions, New York now has two players on two-way contracts. They have the capacity to sign one more player to a similar agreement, with Kevin McCullar Jr. anticipated to return and fill this final slot, as noted by Begley.
