Montreal Canadiens Suffer Setbacks with Injuries to Newhook and Guhle

Injury Updates for the Montreal Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens have revealed some tough news regarding injuries to two of their players.

Alex Newhook’s Injury

Forward Alex Newhook is set to miss the next four months after successful surgery to address a fractured ankle. His injury occurred during a game against the Dallas Stars on November 13, limiting him to just under six minutes of playing time that night. As a result, the Canadiens will anticipate Newhook’s return no sooner than mid-March.

This is a significant blow for Newhook, who had been enjoying a productive season, scoring six goals and providing 12 points in only 17 matches, while posting a positive plus-7 rating.

Kaiden Guhle’s Recovery

In another unfortunate update, defenseman Kaiden Guhle is facing a recovery period of eight to ten weeks as he also had surgery, this time for a partially torn adductor muscle. Guhle has not participated in any games since the season opener against the Nashville Predators on October 16. Prior to his injury, he had logged one goal, an assist, and a plus-1 rating across five games before being sidelined.

His absence will be felt until at least early January, adding to the Canadiens’ injury woes.
