Leading this prestigious group is Michael Hage, a sophomore at the NCAA level. Button believes Hage is well on his way to becoming a valuable top-six player in the NHL, capable of excelling as both a center and a right winger. The 19-year-old is currently in the thick of the Big 10 playoffs with his Michigan Wolverines. Canadiens fans might see him make his NHL debut after the season concludes, likely following the Frozen Four tournament.

In the second position on the list, Button features Alexander Zharovsky, a forward who was selected in the second round of the most recent draft. Zharovsky has been productive in the KHL, accumulating 38 points in 56 games while playing for Salavat Yulaev Ufa. However, his recent form has dipped, leading to a reassignment to the fourth line after he managed only one goal over his last ten outings.
Further down the list, defenseman David Reinbacher earns the fourth spot. The right-shot player has made notable progress with the Laval Rocket this season, recording 22 points in 47 games while demonstrating improved decision-making and game skills.
Seventh on Button’s ranking is Bryce Pickford, another right-shot defenseman who has been showcasing his talent in the WHL with an impressive 81 points, including 44 goals. His scoring output has him tied for first in goals among players in his league, underscoring his significant contribution.
