Milwaukee Bucks Sign Ryan Rollins to $12 Million Contract for Three Years

Milwaukee Bucks Secure Ryan Rollins

In a significant move, the Milwaukee Bucks have secured guard Ryan Rollins with a new three-year contract worth $12 million, which includes a player option for the final year. The announcement was made by Rollins’ agents, Mike Silverman and Brandon Grier from Equity Basketball, to ESPN.

Rollins’ Journey to the Bucks

Rollins, who was originally selected in the second round of the 2022 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors, transitioned to the Bucks on a two-way deal in February 2024. Throughout the 2024-25 season, he played primarily on the two-way contract until March when he signed a standard NBA contract. After opting not to take a multi-year deal previously and becoming an unrestricted free agent, Rollins has now been rewarded with this lucrative agreement.

Performance Highlights

At just 23 years old, Rollins emerged as a reliable contributor in the lineup under coach Doc Rivers, showcasing his skills, particularly as a three-point shooter. Last season, he averaged 6.2 points per game with a striking 40.8% shooting accuracy from beyond the arc across 56 games. His performance notably improved when he stepped in for the injured point guard Damian Lillard, where his scoring jumped to 10.2 points per game and he shot an impressive 45.2% from three-point range during his 19 starting appearances.

In the last stretch of the regular season, while Lillard was sidelined, Rollins showcased his capabilities further, averaging 12.3 points and four assists per game with a remarkable 58% shooting from three in his final ten games.

Offseason Changes for the Bucks

This offseason has brought notable changes for the Bucks, as they said goodbye to some key players, including their long-time starting center Myles Turner and Lillard while bringing in fresh talent with a four-year contract for Turner. The team is also set to retain other players, such as Kevin Porter Jr., Bobby Portis, Taurean Prince, and Gary Trent Jr., emphasizing their commitment to assemble a competitive roster for the upcoming season.
