In a remarkable display of skill and teamwork, the 24th ranked Miami (Ohio) RedHawks achieved their 22nd consecutive win, establishing a new Mid-American Conference record with an 85-61 triumph against Northern Illinois on Saturday. This victory surpassed the previous record held by the 2001-02 Kent State team, marking an historic achievement for the RedHawks, who now stand unbeaten at 22-0 overall and 10-0 in the conference.

Brant Byers was instrumental in the win, contributing 21 points, while Peter Suder supported with 19 points. Additionally, Antwone Woolfolk delivered a standout performance, recording his second double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds. For Northern Illinois (7-14, 3-7), Gianni Cobb and Taj Walters each scored 17 points, but the team’s recent performance has faltered, losing three out of their last four games.
