In a surprising turn of events, the mayor of Melbourne has publicly urged Tottenham Hotspur to reconsider their recent decision to terminate head coach Ange Postecoglou.

During his tenure, Postecoglou, who grew up in Melbourne after emigrating from Greece, managed to secure the club’s first major trophy in nearly two decades by leading Tottenham to victory in the Europa League—a feat achieved on May 21.
