Manchester City Pursues Gianluigi Donnarumma

Recent reports indicate that Manchester City is actively pursuing Gianluigi Donnarumma, contingent upon the successful transfer of Ederson to Fenerbahce. Sources reveal that the Premier League club remains poised to finalize Donnarumma’s acquisition from Paris Saint-Germain once Ederson’s departure is confirmed.

Ederson’s Potential Transfer

The Brazilian goalkeeper is currently in negotiations with the Turkish side, which would mark the end of his eight-year tenure at the Etihad Stadium. City is awaiting the green light to complete the deal for Donnarumma, affirming that this move will only proceed after Ederson officially joins Fenerbahce.

Ederson, who is 32 years old, has also attracted interest from Galatasaray and several clubs in the Saudi Pro League. With permission granted to him to engage in talks with the Turkish club, expectations are high that his transfer will materialize.

Donnarumma’s Readiness and Team Dynamics

In the interim, Donnarumma is prepared to conclude his transfer to City, providing Pep Guardiola with a high-profile option between the posts. Notably, Guardiola has opted to field 22-year-old James Trafford during the team’s first three Premier League matches this season, following Trafford’s return to the club from Burnley in a transfer worth approximately £27 million.

Furthermore, Manchester City is also exploring options to sign Stefan Ortega, the German goalkeeper who served as Ederson’s backup last season but was absent from the squad during their recent match against Brighton, which ended in a 2-1 defeat.
