Manchester City and Puma Forge Ahead with £1 Billion Deal Lasting Until 2035

Manchester City Extends Partnership with Puma

Manchester City Football Club has announced a substantial extension of its partnership with Puma, adding a 10-year agreement that extends their collaboration until 2035. This significant development, confirmed on Tuesday, is expected to yield a staggering value of up to £1 billion ($1.3 billion), translating to an annual payment of £100 million. This new financial arrangement represents a considerable increase from the previous contract signed in 2019, which was valued at £65 million per year.

Setting New Benchmarks

The new deal is poised to set a new benchmark for kit supplier contracts among English football clubs, surpassing Manchester United’s agreement with Adidas, which was worth £900 million over a decade.

Ferran Soriano, the CEO of City Football Group (CFG), expressed pride in the evolution of their partnership with Puma, stating, “We teamed up with Puma with aims to challenge ourselves and surpass expectations. Over the past six years, we have not just met these goals, but exceeded them.”

Puma’s involvement extends beyond Manchester City, currently serving other clubs under the CFG umbrella, including Melbourne City, Girona, Palermo, and Mumbai City. Soriano emphasized the seamless integration of Puma into the City organization and the historic moments they have experienced together, engaging fans worldwide through their collaborative efforts. He added, “The renewal of today strengthens our bond and paves the way for a promising future.”

Recent Challenges

In less fortunate news, Manchester City faced an exit from the Club World Cup in the round of 16 after a defeat by Al Hilal. The team is set to return to action with a pre-season friendly against Palermo, a fellow CFG club, scheduled for August 9.
