Louisville Cardinals Achieve 12th Consecutive Win with 85-56 Victory Over Boston College

Louisville Cardinals Triumph Over Boston College

In a commanding performance, the No. 8 Louisville Cardinals triumphed over Boston College with a score of 85-56, pushing their winning streak to an impressive 12 games on Saturday. The Cardinals, boasting a record of 19-3 and maintaining an undefeated 9-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, have now secured 15 victories in their last 16 games.

Standout Performances

Mackenly Randolph was a standout player for Louisville, matching her career-high with 13 points, including 10 in the first half. A sophomore forward and daughter of NBA All-Star Zach Randolph, she showcased her scoring prowess, shooting 5 for 7 from the field, and has now hit double digits in scoring in three consecutive games.

The Cardinals quickly established dominance in the first quarter, starting the game with a 10-0 run and converting seven of their first ten shots, while Boston College struggled significantly, making only one of their initial eight attempts and committing four turnovers in the opening quarter.

Louisville’s offensive effort also included contributions from Tajianna Roberts and Skylar Jones, both scoring 11 points apiece. Impressively, the Cardinals shot 54.7% overall, marking their second-best shooting performance of the season, despite a colder fourth quarter where they converted only four of 15 attempts. Notably, all 12 players who participated in the game for Louisville contributed to the scoreboard, facilitating a lead that ballooned to 81-39 with under six minutes remaining.

Boston College’s Struggles

On the other side, Boston College continues to struggle this season, now on a 14-game losing streak. Freshman Amira Anderson was a bright spot for the Eagles, leading her team with 16 points, while Jocelyne Grier contributed 13. However, as a team, Boston College’s shooting woes persisted, as they managed only 29.2% from the field, marking the third instance this season where their shooting percentage has dipped below 30%.

Looking Ahead

Louisville’s active 12-game winning streak is the longest since their remarkable 15-game stretch during the 2021-22 season. Originally slated for Sunday, this game was rescheduled to Saturday due to predicted winter weather affecting the Louisville area.

Looking ahead, Boston College will prepare to face N.C. State at home on Thursday, while Louisville is set to take on Stanford the same day, aiming to continue their successful season.
